THE Environment Management Bureau (EMB) yesterday gathered the village chiefs of the city to brief them about their obligations and responsibilities in the implementation of the Solid Waste Management Act (RA 9003).
The activity, dubbed as the “Ecological Solid Waste Management Barangay Summit,” was organized by the City Local Environment and Natural Resources (Clenro) at Deluxe Hotel.
Engr. Armen Cuenca, Clenro head, said 73 barangay chairpersons participated so they would know proper solid waste management in their respective barangays.
“Daghan man gud bag-ong napili nga mga barangay chairman ug gikinahanglan nga masayod sila unsa-on pag-implement ang RA 9003, kay kon dili nila i-implement ang bala-od, ombudsman na ang maglakag kanila,” Cuenca said.
For the senior barangay chairpersons, Cuenca added, the summit served as a refresher course on how to sustain and maintain their material recovery facilities based on RA 9003.
