Story of love

THE story of Christmas is the story of love, of forgiveness, of giving, of peace, and of hope, and of holiness. It is truly the story of God, and of how He so loved the world which He created, the world which, unfortunately, got destroyed by man’s own disobedience and disregard of His commands.

With God’s love for all men, He closed His eyes to their sinfulness and transgressions. With His love for the sinful man, He considered it appropriate for Him, even if He is God, to come down to earth from heaven, in human likeness and form, as a man with flesh and blood, and accepted in His Holy Flesh, Holy Blood, and Holy Spirit, the grave punishment that man should receive because of his sinfulness, in the lake of never-ending fire and worms.

Man’s only problem in all these is that, he does not have, or perhaps, does not want to have, the necessary understanding of what God had done for him. Man does not even know that the the grace of God’s accepting in Himself the punishment that man should be receiving comes with a condition that has to be fulfilled, a condition which, if not complied with by man, would remove from him the salvation which God is offering by His sacrifice in the cross.

What is the condition that man should fulfill so they could receive the salvation that comes from God’s coming down to earth from heaven, in human likeness and form, as a man with flesh and blood? It is their accepting the fact that God Himself was the One who came down to earth, and introduced His Name as “Jesus”.

If man accepts and have faith in Jesus as his God and Savior and as God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, he becomes a child of God and blood kin of the Christ who is given eternal life in Paradise, and is divested of the curses of destruction and death.

The Holy Spirit of God likewise descends upon these people, and, as a consequence, power comes to them. What kind of power is this? This is the power to become a witness for Jesus–which is to say, to testify and defend Jesus as the one true God and Savior, who is God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit all over the world, to the ends of the earth.

Too, the individual who accepts and have faith in Jesus as God and Savior and as God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, is given the power to fight and prevail against evil, corruption, and sinfulness in their lives, at all times. This is because once a person accepts and believes in Jesus, they become children of God and blood kin of the Christ, or children born not of human will but were born of God.

Victory and success become key ingredients of their daily lives, because they Spirit that is in them–which is the Spirit of Jesus, our God and Savior who is God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit–is far stronger than the spirit that is in the world. This is the Holy Spirit that gives man the right to call on God as “Father, my Father”.
