A LOW pressure area moving east of Davao City brought light rains in some parts of Mindanao on Sunday and yesterday.

The Philippines Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) yesterday said it was closely monitoring the LPA in the Pacific Ocean.

According to Daizy Flores, weather specialist at the Pagasa-Mindanao station in El Salvador, Misamis Oriental, said although the LPA is outside of the Philippines area, it is still affecting Mindanao because of its trough extension.

Flores said the LPA won’t likely intensify into a storm. The LPA however would bring cloudy skies especially in the afternoon and nighttime.
