Iligan City — More than P100,000 worth of suspected shabu were confiscated by the National Bureau of Investigations here, Monday evening.

According to NBI chief here, lawyer Abdul Jamal Dimaporo, the live-in partners were identified as Omar Tabao, 36, and Mary Grace Manginsay, 31 who were nabbed at a lodging house at Purok 7, Tambacan, this city.

They are residents of Marawi City and San Juan, Siquijor. Confiscated from them were seven big sachets of suspected drug along with P3,000 buy-bust money, the NBI said.

The two have been under surveillance for two months, the NBI said. Another person who was in another room of the same lodging house escaped, Dimaporo added.

Meanwhile, in another development related to illegal drugs, Chief Investigator Jovane Cabusas, spokesperson  of the Philippine National Police here said that of the 44 barangays, two have been declared drug-free. These are barangays Panoroganan and Kalilangan. To note, both are hinterland barangays.
