For mauling his live-in partner, a Chinese chef in one of the hotels here was arrested by authorities yesterday morning.

Major Ivan Viñas, city police spokesman, identified the suspect as Tong Goa Ching, 28, and a stay-in chef at Marco Polo hotel located at Barangay Cugman, this city.

The complainant, Caitlyn Salvo,19 and a resident of Plaridel, Claveria, Misamis  Oriental, narrated to police that the suspect physically harmed her.

She said the suspect punched her in the stomach and right shoulder. Not contented, the suspect then dragged her towards the pavement.

Security guards on duty Jurey Labado and  Sesinando Bringas III who noticed the commotion came in rescue of the victim and arrested the suspect.

The said security guards then turned over Goa Ching to the police assigned at Cugman police  Station.

It was learned that Salvo is a one month pregnant to the suspect.

The suspect is now detained at the said police station awaiting formal final of charges from the complainant. (Joey P. Nacalaban)
