THE bulk water supplier Cagayan de Oro Bulk Water Inc. (Cobi) is scheduled to install a second booster that would pump more water from the Bobonawan River to a water treatment facility in Barangay Pualas, Baungon town in Bukidnon.

The Gold Star Daily learned that the facility is actually the same plant built by COWD’s erstwhile bulk water supplier, Rio Verde Water Consortium Inc..

COWD assistant general manager for technical services Elezar Linaac said Cobi would install the second water booster pump today.

With the two Cobi booster pumps in place, Linaac said, the COWD expects the delivery to increase from 40 thousand to 60 thousand cubic meters a day before May 15.

He said the second Cobi booster pump would be linked to an infiltration gallery at the Bobonawan River.

The first booster pump was installed by Cobi over the weekend, the reason why the bulk water supplier shut down its operations from Saturday night to Sunday morning.

According to Linaac, the first booster pump was installed near the water treatment plant in Barangay Pualas.

Linaac could not say why Cobi has been installing booster pumps at the Rio Verde plant.

“All we know is that Cobi purchases water from Rio Verde. As to their agreement, we have no idea,” Linaac said.
