THE government is now preparing to rehabilitate the multi-purpose building at Plaza Divisioria and rebuild the historic Ampitheater, one of the city’s historic landmarks.
The city council approved an ordinance this week to authorize the Department of Public Works and Highways to include the demolition of the existing ramp in the scope of work of the project.
DPWH regional director Zenaida Tan informed the city council that the Department cannot include the demolition unless authorized by the legislative body.
Councilor Zaldy Ocon said the project is funded by Sen. Aquilino Pimentel III who pledged to provide a P100-million budget for the Divisoria facelift. (SP)
