A SOLDIER who alleged had a drink too many ended up in detention after he accidentally plowed through with a van a small eatery on Ebarle St. in Barangay 30 on Sunday night.
At least three people were hurt in the accident that took place at around 8 pm. Authorities identified the suspect as Pfc. Efren Adorable, 25, of Iligan City. He was detained at the Cogon police precinct.
The accident hurt 30-year old Greg Habagat, his wife Antonette, 24, and mother Marites Oliveros, 54, all of Barangay 30, who has been placed under intesive care at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center.
Oliveros’s husband Vicente said the victims were in the eatery and were about to eat when a speeding white L-300 van driven by Adorable plowed through. He said Oliveros was drunk at that time.
Mr. Oliveros said his family would press charges against Adorable, and would demand that he pay for the damages, including hospital bills. -nitz arancon
