THE Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) would make available today its 2015 Database of Poor Families in Northern Mindanao at N Hotel in Kauswagan, this city.
Zosimo Butil, Policy and Plans Division chief of the DSWD in the region, said the “Listahan Tuloy ang Pagbabago” would be launched this afternoon by Social Welfare Assistant Secretary Noel Macalalad.
The “Listahan” would give a clearer picture of the extent of poverty in the region, provide profiles and exactly how many poor families there are in northern Mindanao, said Butil.
The database is the result of DSWD’s surveys across the region since October 2015. DSWD fielded 800 enumerators to collect data throughout Region 10.
He said the “Listahan”is important to aid the government in determining exactly how to help and serve poverty-stricken families in northern Mindanao. (nitz arancon)
