A GROUP of basketball coaches in the city have asked the City Council’s intervention regarding the reported incident where a particular student had falsified his true age so he can participate in the Palarong Pambansa-City Level.

As reported by Cagayan de Oro City Councilor Ian Mark Nacaya on this week’s regular session, the matter was brought to their attention after no proper action were undertaken by the City Schools Division up to this time.

It appeared on their record that the age of the player was older than the declared age he tendered in the Committee of Palarong Pambansa City level, the coaches reported.

“Now in the regional level and soon to go national, it will be a shame for the city having a player who is not on the age bracket. If the boy competes in the Palarong Pambansa and found to be unfit due to age falsification, that will be a shame for the city,” Nacaya said. (sp)
