a SERIES of anti-drug operations were conducted by different police stations under Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo) which resulted to the arrest of four drug personalities in different barangays in the city, over the weekend.

Police Insp. Johnny Agutaya, Cogon police precinct deputy chief identified the suspect as Bernardo ‘Apay’ Blanco, 40. Blanco was arrested in a buy-bust operation at barangay 36. He was listed as among the top drug personalities in the area.

He said aside from violation of illegal drugs, Blanco would also be charged for resisting arrest and attempted homicide to persons in authority when he tried to attack using a bladed weapon during the drug operation.

Blanco for his part, denied owning the drugs taken from his possession but was only delivered to him for distribution.

In other police operations, Police Station 1 in Divisoria arrested Lito Somoroy, 50, a resident of Block 12-Lot 16 at Xavier Heights Subdivision, Upper Barangay Balulang during a buy-bust operation in the area.

Chief Insp. Maricris Mulat said Somoroy is a known drug personality in their area of responsibility distributing and selling drugs.

Police also arrested one Julius Caesar Labalan, 35, and a resident of Barangay Carmen during a buy-bust operation in the area.

He is now temporarily detained at Carmen Police Station for case filing.

In barangay Bulua, police arrested one Ronald Capili, 33, and a resident of Barra, Iponan during a buy-bust operation conducted in the area Sunday evening.

Recovered from the suspects were sachets of alleged methamphetamine hydrochloride known as shabu, drug paraphernalia and the marked money used during the buy-bust operation.
