Iligan City — City Vice Mayor Jemar Vera Cruz yesterday said the city will try to get rid of the barricade that has been mounted in the C-3 road at Del Carmen if only to ease the traffic problem of the city.

They will do so through  a court order, he added, as he understands that this is being barricaded by virtue of a court order too

At present, the city is experiencing serious traffic woes as the major city streets are being subjected to repairs in long stretches by the Department of Public Works and Highways, even as there is also a barricade at the Circumferential road (C-3) at Del Carmen.

The C-3 had been used as an alternate highway which should have eased the traffic situation if buses are being allowed to pass through it. But the owner of land in the area which is presently the subject of expropriation proceedings by a court order had succeeded in barricading it, thereby making it off limits to buses, thus compounding the traffic problem. There are also “illegal terminals” near the old Gaisano store at Poblacion, this city.
