After throwing a successful surprise debut party for the daughter of an OFW last week, pioneering public service program Wish Ko Lang! continues to grant wishes and make dreams come true. This Saturday (July 6), Wish Ko Lang! makes it possible for die-hard Ginebra fans to meet their idols.
Filipinos love basketball so much that the Philippines has been dubbed as “basketball country”. Pinoy basketball fans really have a way of showing their fervent support to their favorite teams.
In the Philippines Basketball Association (PBA), one team is considered to be the “most loved” over the years—the Barangay Ginebra, with Filipinos regarding themselves as part of the “Barangay” or the community of Ginebra fans.
Like them, two families regard themselves “ultimate die hard barangay Ginebra fanatics”. One family considers it a family day when Ginebra is playing because everyone is glued to the game—from the father to the grandson. On the other hand, a broken family not only made watching the Gin Kings play their bonding moment, but a means of being able to connect to one another. In fact, a child was able to reach out to the stepfather because of watching Ginebra play.
What happens when these two families get to meet the entire Ginebra team and watch them play live? Will they be able to hold back their emotion as they get up-close with their basketball idols?
This week, Wish Ko Lang! also unveils “Wheels Ko Lang”—a roaming vehicle that aims to give various gifts and surprises to Kapuso viewers in different barangays.
All these and more as Wish Ko Lang continues to spread goodness and hope among Filipinos here and abroad.
Watch Wish Ko Lang! with Vicky Morales, Saturday after Tadhana on GMA-7.
