The Philippine Atmospheric Geographical  Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the low pressure area is forecast to enter the Philippine territory on Saturday afternoon or evening.

Low pressure areas have the potentials of turning into tropical storms.

Pagasa-El Salvador weather specialist  Luz Mercado said the weather system was spotted over the Pacific Ocean where warm water could make it intensify.

Mercado said the LPA could intensify and become “Typhoon Domeng,” and bring more rain this weekend.

But Mercado said the weather system may not impact that much. “Mosaka ni siya kon mahimo nang bagyo kay mamid-pid ra man ni siya sa Pilipinas,  ug  dili gani siya mo-landfall,” she said.

Pagasa, meanwhile, said an Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) could bring more rains in Mindanao today.

Pagasa said the ICTZ would continue bringing scattered rain showers over Mindanao, Palawan, Visayas.

“Ma-o ni nga weather system ang atong sagad nga masinati kon hapit na ang panahon sa ting-ulan,” Mercado said.
