NFA distribution, manned by NFA team led by Assistant Provincial Manager Samuel Natavio was able to serve 580 individuals of the P27 per kilogram NFA rice.

Most of them are survivors of flashfloods, fire, city demolition and typhoon Sendong incidents now living at the resettlement site in Balubal.

Barangay Balubal is about nine kilometers to the nearest public market which is Puerto, and 18 kms to the city’s major market in Cogon.

Puerto public market has only one Institutionalized Bigasan sa Palengke, and residents of Balubal have to spend P20 to P100 roundtrip fare from Balubal to Puerto market.

According to residence their only choice is to buy commercial rice in the market priced at P44-P50 per kilogram, whenever they have no access to NFA rice. (nfa x)
