COPC, who had 605 pinfalls from six players, bested nine other teams who represented other media organizations.

Bowling teams from Philippine National Police 10 Press Corps and COPC-DXIM settled for first and second runner-up honors, respectively.

COPC got the most from corporate secretary Jigger Jerusalem who sparkled with a team high 128 out of two four strikes and from photographer Gerry Gorit who scored 127 from two strikes and a spare. Other members of the champion team were Radyo Nation manager Ronald Rufin, Rappler correspondent Bobby Lagsa, building administrator Val Acapulco and Jigs Padua.

Philippine National Police 10 Press Corps came in next with 566 pinfalls to settle for first-runner up courtesy of Marian Radio’s Henry Manticahon and John Paul Barsopia who posted a 112 and 108 on a computer-generated score sheet.  The other four team members were Henry Lasola, Erran Mercado, Ercel Maandig, and Joey Nacalaban.

With 526 pinfalls, another COPC team composed mainly by DXIM Radyo ng Bayan bowlers captured the second runner-up spot, sparked by Bong Aban-Sarangay’s 120 points from three strikes and a spare.  Other team members were station manager Ditas Edmilao-Gualberto, Cocoy Medina, Dodong Amporinguez, Tony Albania and Ben Balce.

Facilitated by public relations manager Ivy Guantero of SM Downtown Premier, bowling was one of the seven sports events co-sponsored under the 1st Gov. Bambi Emano Press Freedom Cup. Other sports were basketball, volleyball, badminton, fun-shoot, dart, and chess.
