THE pregnant widow wants communist rebels responsible for last week’s ambush in Bukidnon to end up exactly what they did to her husband-iddled with bullets.

Gricel Talabor said this as she broke into tears over her husband’s bulletiddled body in a Camp Evangelista motuary over the weekend.

The 26-year old is seven months pregnant and was widowed as a result of an ambush staged by New People’s Army rebels in an outlying village in Malaybalay, Bukidnon on Wednesday afternoon.

Talabor’s husband, Niño Christopher, a private from Lanao del Norte, was killed in the ambush along with two other soldiers identified as Corporal Pat Non, 40, of Barangay Cugman, this city, and Sgt. Owen Yee, 28, of Impasugong, Bukidnon.

Authorities said rebels sprayed the three soldiers with over 70 bullets.

“Kon unsay ilang gihimo sa akong bana, mao unta usab ang buhaton  kanila,” Gricel said. “Lo-oy akong anak nga matawo siya nga wala nay amahan.”

Sgt. Yee’s widow Almalou said the NPA “killed the dreams and future of our family.”

“Dios na lang ang bahala nila sa paghatag hustisya sa akong bana ug sa iyang mga kauban,” said Almalou, adding that she was worried how she would raise their child alone when she is financially dependent on her husband.

Corporal Non’s widow Janice, 33, a teacher at the Lapasan National  High School, appealed to President Duterte to ensure that the rebels paid for what they did to her husband. She said she wanted them captured and brought to justice.

Cagayan de Oro Mayor Oscar Moreno said he was worried that the termination of the separate ceasefires announced by the National Democratic Front and President Duterte would affect the peace and order situation.

Moreno, chairman of the Regional Peace and Order Council, said the decisions would impact on the economy.

He said the RPOC would tackle the matter when its members meet this month.

Councilor Romeo Calizo meanwhile called on the police and military to field troops to the city’s hinterland barangays and set up outposts there.

Calizo said there were requests for police and military presence in barangays Pigsag-an, Dansolihon and Taglimao because armed rebels went to the villages last month.

“Ang ilang presence kay makahadlok man gud sa katawhan nga nanimuyo nga malinawon. Busa kinahanglan sila nga protektahan,” he added.
