A 41-YEAR OLD jeepney driver was found dead inside his house at Phase 2, Balongis, Balulang, this city, yesterday. Police have yet to say the reason for his death but those who knew him say it looked like a case of suicide.
PO3 German Abalde of the Carmen police said the dead man, Jojie Tagab, was found with blood oozing from his mouth but his body showed no wound.
Abalde said Tagab’s neighbor and friend Nilo Jerusalem found the body at around 6 am.
Jerusalem told investigators he last overheard Tagab quarreling with his wife Annabelle on Thursday night.
He said the quarrel prompted Annabelle to leave their house for Agora, Lapasan. She brought with her their four children.
Jerusalem told the police he went to Tagab’s house yesterday morning to ask him to have breakfast with him but his friend did not respond.
“Akong gituklang ang iyang gibabag nga kahoy sa iyang sera ug akong gi-ablihan, ’Sus, patay na man diay siya. Bantog ra nga wala na siya mo-tubag sa dihang ako siyang gitawag sa pamahaw,” said Jerusalem, adding he was certain his friend committed suicide.
Annabelle, for her part, claimed she was beaten up by her husband. “Nagsilos man gud ni siya, ma-o tong milakaw ko kay iya man kong gikulata.” (nitz arancon)
