POLICE arrested yesterday morning a 54-year-old trisikad driver for allegedly raping his own daughter.
Police Senior M/Sgt. Merlita Reyes of Carmen police station, said the 15-year-old victim is a daughter of the suspect with his live-in partner who is residing at Colrai, Barangay Macabalan, this city.
The victim is studying in one of the Barangay National high schools in the city.
The 44-year-old victim’s mother, who acted as the complainant, narrated to the police that the incident happened inside the house of the suspect’s sister located at Xavier heights, Upper Balulang at 10 pm last Saturday.
The complainant said, prior to the incident, the suspect fetched her daughter in Barangay Puntod purposedly to bring the latter to the doctor to check her cough and gruffed voice.
“Pero instead dal-on sa hospital didto sila mideretso sa Xavier Heights, sa balay sa igsoon sa suspetsado,” Reyes said.
The complainant said, her daughter narrated to her how her father abused her while they were inside the house of her aunt. It was 10 o’clock in the evening.
The victim said, her aunt was sleeping at the second floor when the rape occured.
In an interview with the suspect, he denied he sexually abused his daughter.
He said how could he do such a thing, adding that he loves his daughter so much.
The suspect is now temporarily detained at Carmen police station pending filing of formal charges.
