At the end of the game won by the Governor’s dribblers, the crowd gave a standing ovation to the PBA Legends led by multi-awarded Alvin Patrimonio when Gov. Emano went on the microphone and made the announcement.

The message stunned the crowd who went silent for a while but broke outin a wild applause a few seconds later. Mayor Sabio and Vice Mayor Armando Pomar were among the crowd in attendance.

Hapit ko mahagbong sa akong lingkuranan! Of course, I am happy sa gi-announce ni Gob. Bambi,” Mayor Sabio said.(I almost fell out of my chair. Of course, I am happy on what Gov. Bambi announced.)

The announcement of Gov. Emano obviously pleased the crowd as it was the topic the crowd talked about and not the result of the game.

Mayor Emano was on his last term and has filed his candidacy for vice mayor, the same position that Mayor Sabio has filed for reelection under different parties.

“I have known Mayor Sabio all the years of my life.  I have high respect on his person and I know his work ethics. Yes, I am sincere in what I said,” Gov. Emano said.

He said it was both a party and family decision.

Mayor Sabio assumed as mayor of this town after then Mayor Oloy Emano succumbed to a debilitating diabetes. The two belonged to different political parties.

A day after the burial of Mayor Emano, then Vice Mayor Sabio took his oath as Mayor together with Kag. Pomar as mayor and vice mayor respectively. One of the things the duo did was to pay a courtesy call on Gov. Emano.

“I found out we are in mutual agreement on the development of our town. When it comes to development, I alawys set aside partisan politics. I assured them of my full support,” Governor Emano who once served a full three (3) terms as mayor of Tagoloan said.

The decision as announced by Gov. Emano brought relief to voters of this town who were turned between two families.

Malisud talikdan ang mga Emano kay mga maayong tawo. Lisod sab biyaan ang mayor karon kay dugay na nga higala. Ani nga desisyon ni Bambi, ahhh happy all,” Joe Loquellano a long time resident and voter of this town said. (We cannot turn our backs against the Emano who are good. We cannot also disregard the present mayor who is a long-timefriend. With this decision of Bambi, ahh it happy all.” (advt)
