VILLANUEVA Mayor Jennie Rosalie Uy and Phivedec Industrial Administration Administrator Franklin Quijano both decided to set aside personal and political issues as the two met on Thursday during the handing over of two checks with a total amount of P75,861,885.27 as the town’s share from the industrial estate.

The checks are the 25% share to the municipality for the first quarter of 2019 from the Phivedec’s real property tax. Tagoloan only received a total of Real-property Tax shares of P5,772,114.47.

The officials talked as they focused on issues concerning economic development of the municipality, Phivedec and the poor people living the Phivedec area.

Quijano pointed out that he wants collaboration for the development of the area.

Uy also wanted cooperation with Phivedec since there are many poor people living.

“Gikan pud ko sa pobre nga kahimtang ug dili pud ko gusto ang namuyo sa area nga maigo sa development nga dili mahatagan ug igong pagtagad,” Quijano said.

It was learned that about 400 hectares in the Phivedec area will be occupied in the coming months or year by another foreign and local area locators who already submitted their letter of intent

Two of them (area locators)  include a Chinese steel factory were already with a memorandum of understanding.
