Authorities identified the suicide as Jonathan Rellon, 44, residing at Gawad Kalinga-SM relocation site, Calaanan, Canitoan, this city.

Rellon, who had five children to his wife, was working as a foreman at the ongoing construction of Victor subdivision located in Calaan.

Authorities are looking at depression as the reason for his suicide.

They will also consider the report that the victim became depressed when his superior advised him to take a rest after he was checked of having hypertension.

His body was recovered by his son already hanging at the mezzanine portion of their house using a welding machine wire.

Neighbors rushed Rellon to JR Borja Memorial Hospital but attending personnel declared him dead on arrival.

It was learned that prior to the incident Rellon was in a drinking binge with his friends.

Friend, Fred Cañamot said they did not see any sign that Rellon was depressed or that he would commit suicide since he was “lively” that night and even cracked jokes with him.
