TFBM Field Office Manager and Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) Assistant Secretary Felix Castro emphasized the importance of identifying difficulties of different member agencies on implementing business and livelihood programs for Marawi.

“We need to do this to continuously improve our collaborated livelihood efforts for Marawi IDPs,” Castro said.

Member-agencies also discussed Marawi IDP data sharing to improve beneficiary validation and project monitoring to avoid overlapping of specific interventions.

Kathanor Update

Castro also presented on the second-day updates on the ongoing Marawi IDP profiling dubbed as “Kathanor” which means “organization.”

It aims to collect the number, location and status through biometrics of bona fide Marawi siege victims and returnees to help improve the delivery of services and generate better programs and projects.

TFBM’s Business and Livelihood Subcommittee has been looking forward to a more credible database to make sure government and non-government interventions are delivered to legitimate Marawi IDPs.

Kathanor started November 13 at Barangay Tomas Cabili, Iligan City which is still ongoing to accommodate more home-based Marawi IDPs coming from the cities of Iligan, Cagayan de Oro and other nearby towns. (Wilnard L. Bacelonia/PIA ICCC) (PR)
