The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) came in full force to join the Peace Caravan in Loreto to support the government’s move for public awareness in urban areas in relation to the various services rendered by the different agencies of the government specifically in Brgy. Kauswagan and Brgy. Manawi Loreto, Agusan del Sur on May 28-29, 2015. Headed by Regional Director Julita A. Ragandang, ARD Daylinda P. Narisma and PARPO Paysal B. Tumog along with other DAR employees, the department through the legal officers, provided the residents of Loreto free legal consultation services. In the 2-day event, land owners and farmers sought the aid of the legal officers of DAR and asked advices on land disputes and other related agrarian issues. The DAR also distributed titles to the agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARB) facilitated by MARPO Luzminda Arciaga, the MARO of Loreto.

Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace Process Sec. Teresita Quintos – Deles spearheaded the Peace Caravan activity along with USEC Emmanuel T. Bautista assisted by the Provincial Governor of Agusan del Sur Adolph Edward G. Plaza and the municipality of Loreto. It is for PAMANA (Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan) program, a national government’s program and framework for peace and development, that this event was put into effect. “Dapat maramdaman ang serbisyo ng gobyerno. Walang maiiwan dahil walang iiwanan. Ang Gobyerno po ay nagtratrabaho para sa inyo” Deles, OPAPP Secretary, stated.

The activity was participated by six local offices of P/MLGU, One civic organization: The Rotary and 21 Regional line agencies which provided various government services to the residents of Loreto. Governor Plaza urged the people of Loreto to cooperate with them. “Dili mag silbi kung ang gobyerno lang ang atong saligan, dapat magtinabangay permi ang gobyerno ug mga katawhan” he stated.
