Authorities said they have yet to identify the man.

Lacubtan said it was clear that the man was murdered.

Dr. West Edquila, medico legal officer of the Scene of the Crime Operative (Soco), said the victim succumbed to more than 50 stab wounds and lacerations all over. He said the body was already under the state of decomposition when it was found.

According to residents, the body was stuck between bamboos under the bridge.

The Barangay Carmen rescue team first responded, and dragged the body with a boat by tying a rope around the hand. Police said the victim stood at about five feet and seven inches, and the man was between 20 and 30 years.

Edquila said the victim had 15 to 20 stab wounds in the chest, neck, back and other body parts. He also had many lacerations and other injuries.

Authorities found tattoos on the victim, one on the shoulder. It was a rose tattoo. Edquila said the body would still be autopsied.

Meanwhile, police arrested the fourth most wanted person in Cagayan de Oro on Monday.

City police planning and operations head Supt. Lemuel Gonda identified the suspect as Michael Pabio Absin of Xavier Heights, Upper Balulang, this city.

Absin has been charged with three counts of rape, and no bailbond was recommended.

Gonda said Absin was arrested at his residence at around 5 pm Monday on the strength of an Aug. 10 arrest warrant issued by Judge Florencia Abbu of Regional Trial Court Branch 17. (nitz arancon and alwen saliring)
