The Cagayan de Oro office of the Department of Interior and Local Government is set to conduct verification and installation of the rightful public official that will hold office in Barangay Lapasan, this city.
DILG chief Engr. Jane Docallos said issues of the rightful public barangay official who will hold office in Barangay Lapasan arose after barangay chairman Omar Labuntog filing of leave of absence due poor health condition.
She said under the Local Government Code of 1991, the current situation in barangay Lapasan is under temporary vacancy. Report reaching to DILG-CDO office states that Labuntog has undergone an open heart surgery in Metro Manila.
“Walay miabot nga copy sa memorandum nga gi-issue ni Labuntog sa among opisina. Automatic lang gyud unta ang first barangay kagawad to assumed the office. (Although), no disbursement of cash should be made,” she said.
