KORONADAL City — In an attempt to promote transparency on environmental law enforcement, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources is gearing for a management information system to facilitate the gathering, recording and analysis of evidence on incidents related to environmental law violations.

At least 30 employees from the Regional Office, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office and Community Environment and Natural Resources Office who were environmental law enforcers were oriented with the Environment Law Enforcement Management Information System in General Santos City.

DENR XII Regional Director Nilo Tamoria said the system is an innovation of the department citing on how technology evolved.

“Our forest rangers before were only using paper and pencil but now in the advent of technology, they can now access advance mobile system to achieve a more accurate and efficient result,” Director Tamoria said.

Tamoria further challenged the participants to take the new learning not just as compliance but as a tool to perform their job better.
