MANILA — Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr. today said the Department of Justice should ensure there would be no unnecessary delays in its preliminary investigation of the murder complaint against 90 respondents for the killing of Special Action Force (SAF) commandos in Mamasapano, Maguin-danao last January 25.

On Tuesday, the National Prosecution Service-National Bureau of Investigation (NPS-NBI) team filed before the Department of Justice a complaint of direct assault with murder against 90 respondents in connection with the Mamasapano incident.

“It’s a little bit delayed but that is, at least, a good development. I’m happy that we have finally begun the process of bringing justice to not only the families of the SAF 44 but to the entire police organization. Better late than never,” Marcos said. (pr)
