MAYOR Oscar Moreno is getting impatient with the public works department. He has called on the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to speed up its road and bridge projects in the city and Misamis Oriental.

Moreno cited the bridge project in Igpit, Opol town in Misamis Oriental which he said affected the vehicular traffic flow from the province to the city, vice versa.

He said the challenge facing the DPWH is how to implement projects as quickly as possible without compromising infrastructure standards.

Moreno noted that the number of vehicles in the city and neighboring provinces have increased, raising the demand for more and better toads and bridges.

Daghan na gyud kaayong mga sakyanan ug nagkihanglan na gyud ta sa bag-ong mga dalan ug mga tulay,” he said.

Moreno appealed to the DPWH to fasttrack the implementation of infrastructure projects, particularly its work on the coastal road from Barangay Gusa, this city, to Igpit, Opol in Misamis Oriental.

He mentioned others like the bridge construction project in Sitio Tibasak in barangays Macasandig, Balulang, and the coastal road in Macabalan.

Kon mahuman pagtrabaho kanang coastal road from Gusa to Opol, coastal road in Macabalan, and the bridge in Macasandig to Balulang, dako na kaayo kana’g ikatabang sa pagpaluag sa atong traffic,” Moreno said.

He said the DPWH should also speed up the ongoing bridge construction projects in Opol, El Salvador City, Alubijid town, Gitagum,  and other projects all the way to Iligan.
