Iligan City — Supporters of detained mayor Celso Regencia are still gathered in front of the city jail at Tipanoy, this city as the order of the Judge in Initao town in Misamis Oriental reached its tenth day.
To recall the order of Judge Marissa Estabaya of the Regional Trial Court of Misamis Oriental, Branch 44 in Initao town said that the pulling out would be within 10 days and the reckoning of the supporters was that the 29th of this month was the tenth day.
Earlier, on April 25, after negotiations the police from Cagayan de Oro backed off, after attempting to help pull the mayor out of the jail. One supporter, Jerry Abarca died dawn of that day. A woman supporter also fell off from the bench she was resting and was hospitalized but as of press time, was reported to be out of hospital now.
As of this publication, there is still no attempt to pull out the mayor from the city jail and transfer him to Cagayan de Oro City. (Nora Soriño)
