The crisis that you are in at the moment is a recapitulating dilemma that is happening every summer season for ages. In other words, this is not your first time to be in such situation! My question is why haven’t you fixed the problem yet? My hunch is that nobody has the nerve to tell you how – except today! So ladies, here are my Eight (8) Tips on how to choose the perfect swimwear for an unforgettable summer experience.

1.)L’ appropriē parfait ( french for “The Perfect Fit”)

The beautiful swimwear that women are wearing today has its humble origin from the creativity of a Parisian designer Louis Read, who launched the first bikini line in 1946 at Paris. Up until today woman are continuously enjoying the fruits of his vision. But they are often bombarded with the problem on how to find the perfect fit. Here’s a scenario where it’s really important to stress out about the number on the tag. Ideally you should focus only on how the suit looks and feels on your body. Half of looking great in a swimsuit is getting the fit right, so if you are shopping for a two-piece, make it easy on yourself and buy separates, which will give you exactly what you need – in terms of both fit and cut – for each half.

In the fitting room try to move as much as you can when trying on a swimsuit, to see if the seat rides up. Don’t buy one that needs constant yanking down. If elastic is digging in anywhere — butt or back or shoulders — this is not the right suit for you. Also, look out if a one-piece suit doesn’t conform the curve of your spine but instead stand away from your lower back. It is probably too small.

2.)Choose a swimwear fitted for the activity

There are some swimwear meant for serious athletics and others are meant just for posing by the pool, and many, many in between. You don’t want to swim laps in a striking bikini, but a two-piece with a dependable stay-put top that will serve you well on the sand and among the waves. Be practical about fabrics, too; for example, crochet bikinis might be cool, but it will take hours to dry after you’ve been swimming.

3.)  Try on something NEW

A string bikini may seem like the most unforgiving of swimsuits, but because it is adjustable, it never cuts into your skin; even if you are not supper skinny (though you do need to be somewhat firm), this style can be flattering. Less revealing two-pieces, like athletic suits and tankinis, can often look better than plain one-piece tank, because a two-piece breaks up that solid mass of color. For same reasons, one piece suits with a little bit of something going on—shirring, a pretty pattern, or a belt — can be a better option than an unadorned tank. The option is, you never know what might work until you see it on your body.

4.)How to make your BUTT look its best

One advantage in buying swimwear separates is that you can customize butt coverage with a slightly larger size. But too much modesty can work against you. Full coverage can make your butt look bigger—even matronly. Revealing a bit of cheek is more flattering.

5.)The Balance point (Style/Support) for your body type

Be realistic about how much support you need in a swimsuit top, and shop accordingly. Triangle tops are for very firm breast only; otherwise they can have a flattering effect. The super-supportive athletic top has its own issues: if it’s too small, it can give you unibreast. Like all swimsuit tops, it should contain without being confining. Underwire tops are great because they offer extra support without sacrificing style, but molded-cup version can look a bit old-lady. The sexy keyhole top — as long as it has substantial straps and a metal ring at its center — offers support from many directions, and therefore can be a particularly smart choice.

A small breast can be enhanced by a light-color printed halter top with dark bottoms —this puts you in a maximum cleavage. A belly can be hidden with a shirred one piece. Consequently, if you want to look slim all over try putting on a chevron stripes. While for ladies who wish to make their thighs look longer a high-cut leg one piece is advice, however it is wise to note that using medium-high creates a more lengthening effect compared to super-high.

6.)The Boy Short Myth

In the abstract, boy short might seem easy to wear as it is less revealing and translated to be more flattering, right? In this case, wrong. Because they cut your legs straight across rather than an upward angle, boy shorts actually make your hips and butt look bigger. Cute as they are, they work best on the very narrowest figures.

7.)Think TWICE about colors

We all know that black clothes are slimming; it’s natural to be drawn to black swimwear for the same reason. But if you are fair-skinned, the constant doesn’t do you any favors. Give some thought to alternate colors in swimwear, and choose those that flatter your skin tone. If you’re really fair, a rich brown and muted blue will work better than black. You could also consider opening up your color options with carefully applied self-tanner, which offers the added bonus of camouflaging imperfections.

8.)STICK with proven labels

If you have a swimsuit that fits really well, it makes sense to return to the source when you need another; you’ll have the best luck with labels that you know work for you. And if swimwear shopping makes you self-critical, skip the sale rack. Odds are that whatever’s hanging there looked terrible on a lot of women that’s why they are on sale, so why put yourself through it?
