The first ever dreamy Bridal Editorial Open Shoot and Workshop, brought to life by Lifecrafts and Pixie Dust was finally and recently realized last November 28, 2015 at Stargate Dream Vacation Resort. Though first of its kind in the locale, the event was not shy of participating photographers, partnering vendors, and promising future partnerships in the fashion industry.

Aptly named “Noir et Marsala” for its warm, mysterious and passionate color palette of black, deep red, and gold, the concept editorial set and overall feeling was made possible thanks to trusted and noted suppliers in the event and wedding industry. Stargate Dream Vacation Resort, true to its name, set the appropriate mixed moods of magic and Hollywood. Bami Bartolome-Fabian for Jazmin Events Planner orchestrated variegated florals and greens into a lush eclectic but harmonious bridal bouquet and centrepiece. Chef Mae Georgette Austral for Mood Lifters brought in a fashionably unique, needless to say mouth-watering, naked cake of pound and red velvet layers topped with gorgeous plums and red grapes. Stunning handcrafted silver and brass jewelry from Silver Glam by Jade Lee Mendoza bedazzled the finer details of the assemblage. Impressive calligraphy art by April San Pedro adorned the set with its personalized stationeries. Kevin Abdala, award-winning stylist of notable personalities decked the model bride and groom with red-carpet worthy gowns and suits, emboldened by the expert hands of hair and makeup duo Lenlen Anaya (maquillage) and Maricel Salise (coiffure). To bring everything together, Lifecrafts and Pixie Dust concocted pairings of elegant fabrics, rustic jute strings, gilded crystal, laced gold and red candles, and various detailed fineries that any bride would swoon over for her wedding day.

That is of course the objective of the event. Jessie Villegas of Capturing Smiles Photography, sister company of Lifecrafts and Pixie Dust, mentioned during the workshop that when a bride searches for her wedding references, she does not merely stop to look at the general theme, she looks into details. Wedding minutiae open opportunities for many suppliers out there; photographers, videographers, and all stylists from hair, makeup, suit and gown, venue alike. The same is also true for other special occasions; birthdays, anniversaries, societal debuts, among many. Hoping to begin not only a trend but a means to helping event vendors, Lifecrafts and Pixie Dust aspire and intend to bring more activities like this and after the success of its first editorial open shoot, is preparing for next year’s creative wave.

Joining the expert crafters is Donald Sandoval’s dynamic video team, Love In Motion, giving motion to both behind-the-scenes and actual set sceneries. Photographers and photography enthusiasts, well-versed in their own lens skills and specialities, Reden Villahermosa, Frank Gonzales Azurria, Albert Janwin Cudal, and Charissa Joy Akut, not only shared the set but shared a roomful of joie de vivre. Their followers and friends will not be disappointed to wait on their very own photographic interpretations of Noir et Marsala, to which they are entitled to use for their marketing and social media materials.

The team is grateful for the warm and supportive management team of Stargate Dream Vacation Resort, who have been very receptive to the idea during the early stages of conceptualization. The venue is home to a unique assortment of themed pavilions, enchanted and nature-friendly gardens and a sprawling scenery overlooking the vastness of the city of Golden Friendship. It is now home to the first ever bridal affair unlike any other. While this may be an ode to fare marsala well, this year’s choice color for fashion and design, this is also, as Lifecrafts and Pixie Dust hopes, the first of many opportunities of bringing art to life with a dash of pixie dust.
