DAVAO CITY — The region’s biggest gathering of schools, the University Fair, will open at SM Davao on July 9 highlighting a powerhouse collection of academic and technical institutions from around the country.

PR manager for SM City Davao Precious Ann Legario said among the out-of-town institutions that confirmed are Ateneo de Zamboanga and Ateneo de Cagayan de Oro (Xavier University), International Academy for Film and Television (Bigfoot) from Cebu, Dumaguete’s Silliman University, Manila’s National University, De La Salle College of Saint Benilde, Mapua College of Technology, University of Santo Tomas and SoFA Design Institute.

She said that among the Davao-based schools to showcase their programs are the Ateneo de Davao University, Davao Doctor’s College, Fashion Institute of Design and Arts, Institute of International Culinary and Hospitality Entrepreneurship, Joji Ilagan Career Center Foundation, MOST Institute of Davao, Philippine Women’s College, University of Mindanao and University of the Philippines in Mindanao.Mall manager Lynette Lopez said, “We are always excited to open the University Fair”. The University Fair is now on its third year.

She said in terms of exhibitor participation, this year is the biggest yet as “we are expecting 20 institutions, 10 of which are from out-of-town”.

She also said that this year’s Fair will also include a fora on the K-12 program as well as the ASEAN integration in partnership with JCI Davao for the Career Talk. Opportunities for graduate studies will also be available, Lopez said. (PNA)
