Apple Tree Hotel and Resorts (ATRH) launched its 5th Christmas Tree Lighting dubbed as “Paskong Pilipino”.

ATRH Christmas tree made of indigenous materials of over 3,500 coconut bowties, and thousands of Christmas Balls and other ornaments.

The event began with a simple mass at its Pavillion,and was followed by the event proper. It was graced by officials from the Municipality of Opol and Misamis Oriental, VIPs and other stakeholders.

To officially kick of the event ATRH Sales & Marketing Manager Evelyn A. Geverola with her opening remarks welcomed everyone.

“Good evening everyone, you are all welcome here tonight, today the first of December is always a special day here at Apple Tree Resorts and Hotel. It is the day that we officially mark the beginning of Christmas Season by lighting up the big Christmas tree, I would like to thank everyone here for coming, we hope you would have a wonderful time and to create special memories to share in the years to come.

A brain child of Clement Dampal ATRH Marketing & PR officer back in 2014 with a simple goal helping the community and at the same time saying thank you to its patrons for a wonderful and fruitful year.

“This year’s theme was difficult to pinpoint int the beginning but as our work progresses I must say we revolve around the word family. Family and all the values associated to it, love, respect, trust, and teamwork,” Bjanesha Manigsaca Emphasis, ATRH General Manager.

This year’s beneficiaries are Children’s Joy Inc., Alay sa may mga Kapansanan Associatio, Inc., and Psalm of David Harmonic Orchestra Inc., Foundation.

This time around the tree itself is made of indigenous materials specifically the roots and flower of a coconut tree and is decorated with a variety of lights and over a thousand Christmas balls.

“It is composed of around 3,550 coconut bow ties, which we harvested from the coconut groves of Alubijid, Molugan, and El Salvador, with a thousand pieces of different colors of Christmas Balls, it stands 21.4 Ft, with a diameter of 11 ft., and it took us around 400 man-hours to finish this Christmas tree,” Emphasis explains.

The unveiling was lead by Municipal Budget Officer of Opol Greg Radaza, Jose Apollo Y. Pacamalan, Provincial Agriculturist of Misamis Oriental and Bjanesha Emphasis and Evelyn A. Geverola .

As the curtains drop a festive dance number by ATRH staffs to the tune of “Pasko sa Pinas” that perfectly fit this year’s theme.

Concluding the event proper, were special numbers of the above beneficiaries.
