“IT’S near to (the truth). But we’re still waiting for the results of the cross forensic examination.”

Major Evan Viñas, spokesperson of the Cagayan de Oro Police Office, gave this statement on queries whether the suspects in the killing of Dr. Raul Winston Andutan can be linked to the murderers of the eldest son (Roland Sherwin) of Cagayan de Oro first district Congressman Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy.

Call it coincidence, both victims of midday violence received six bullets wounds from 45 caliber pistols, resulting to their instantaneous death.

“Investigation is still going on as well as the manhunt of the very important suspect the arrested ones have collectively called as their middleman,” Viñas said.

Viñas, however, told Gold Star Daily that one thing for sure was that the perpetrators of Dr. Andutan were not new to “contract killing” business in stark contrast to what they claimed right after their capture.

Inila na kini sila nga mga hardened criminals sa probinsiya sa Bukidnon,” Viñas said.

Nabbed earlier in Balingoan, Misamis Oriental were Joel Arcilla Nacua, 37 of Lilingayon, Valencia City; Jomar Adlaw , 30 of Maramag and Marjun Abayon Cabug, 39 of Don Carlos all in Bukidnon. While their alleged middleman identified as Remy Tortosa, an ex-Army and a carenderia owner in Balingoan, is still at large.

Another suspect Felipe Tingabngab Entera, 63, was apprehended the following day at the bus terminal of Villanueva town in Misamis Oriental.

Police lieutenant Teddy Valiente Macarayo, chief of Balingoan police station, said the suspects yielded one handgrenade and two 45 caliber pistols loaded with ammunition but with no mobile devices on their possessions.

Despite the speedy wheels of justice, Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno urged the public to wait for the final outcome of the police investigation, reminding them not to jump to the obvious conclusion.

“There are many angles to be considered,” the mayor told the local press.

Despite the bounty on the killers of Tawee Uy that swelled to P14 million, a similar broaddaylight murder was pulled out by motorcycle-riding men on December 9 along the 12th-29th streets of barangay Nazareth, Cagayan de Oro, victimizing the medical head of Maria Reyna Xavier University Hospital.

The arrested suspects confessed they were paid P150,000 for the hit and cited poverty as the reason that provoked them to accept the offer.

Kapos lang gyod sa pera,” was the straight-forward answer of the self-proclaimed gunman Nacua when pressed for comment after their turn-over to the Cagayan de Oro City Police Command.
