Complete Details: In a Facebook post by user Castor Troy and shared in Facebook page UNITEAM BBM-SARA SUPPORTERS 2022, a collage of Presidential candidate Ferdinand Marcos Jr’s “27 Years of Public Service” showcased his achievements within that period. One of these was that he facilitated the creation of the first wind farm in southeast Asia-Bangud Windmills.
Why we fact-check this: Time and again, it has been clarified that this project is privately-initiated, and was carried out by the project proponent without government assistance, and without then-Governor Marcos’ initiative.
This is one of the persistent falsehoods shared by his supporters and has been fact-checked time and again, and yet this has still continued to be seen on social media platforms.
