THE Sepak Takraw Sugbongcogon Team (elementary boys) won the championship in both the regular category and double category during the Pre-National Qualifying Meet held on June 5 to 8 at Davao Del Norte Sports Complex in Tagum City.

Town Vice Mayor Ivan Chester Lagbas confirmed in an interview last Friday afternoon as he expressed pride for the achievement of the Sepak Takraw team

“I’m very proud because our team who is coming from the 5th municipality of the province is winning championships,” Lagbas said.

The team has entitled them to a ticket for the Palarong Pambansa set on July 29 to August 5 in Marikina City, added Lagbas.

He said we will push for a resolution congratulating the Sepak Takraw team in the next regular session, this week.

The team members are Jhon Nino Bagtong, Clarence King Carisma, James Kian Bagtong, Renzo Luiz Cabaltera all of the Sugbongcogon Central Schools here.

The team is under Coach Teacher Rhee G. Alejandrino who also received the best coach award. While the team trainer is Novianie Sabuero.

Jhon Niño Bagtong and Carisma won Best Tekong and Best Spiker awards, respectively.

Lagbas said the participating teams came from five regions of Davao, Socssargen, Northern Mindanao, Barmm, and Caraga.
