THE police in Sugbongcogon town in the eastern part of Misamis Oriental initiated a two-day activity for the renewal of firearms registrations and permits through the One-Stop-Shop program dubbed License To Own and Possess Firearms and Firearms Registration Caravan held on June 7 and 8 at the town’s Gym here.

Police Capt. Gil D. Caday, town chief of police, said at least 80 individuals availed of the program.

The activity was under the supervision of the Regional Civil Security Unit-10 of the Police Regional Office-10, said Caday.

Town Mayor Mildred L. Mondigo supported the activity.

“The mayor (Mondigo) and other public and some barangay officials benefited from the program,” said Caday.

For his part, Sugbongcogon Vice Mayor Ivan Chester Lagbas hailed the efforts and the initiative of the town’s police force.

Dako kaayo kini nga tabang sa mga katawhan sa Sugbongcogon nga gusto magpa rehistro ug mag pa renew sa ilang mga armas nga wala nay hasol ug minus kaayo’g gasto,” Lagbas said.
