MORE than a thousand people from Cagayan de Oro City Hall’s bureaucracy and stakeholders are expected to attend the 1st State of the City Address and 1st Mayor’s Annual Report by Mayor Rolando Uy on Thursday, June 15.
“The 1st State of the City Address and 1st Mayor’s Annual Report to be delivered by Mayor Klarex will be held at the Cagayan de Oro International Convention Center (CICC) also (officially known as) Aquilino Pimentel Jr. International Convention Center and we expect City Hall’s departments to send their delegations (for the event) that will start with a 10 am Mass,” said City Administrator Roy Hilario Raagas.
During the ‘Rise Agenda: In Focus’ program hosted by the City Information Office, Raagas said among those invited to attend are regional directors of government line agencies, civil society organizations (CSOs), officials of the city’s 80 barangays, and the local media.
“Buses will be deployed at 7 am at City Hall and at the SM City uptown area to fetch (the attendees),” Raagas said in Visayan.
The day before, or Wednesday, June 14, City Hall confirmed that there won’t be a ‘People’s Day’ program held at the City Hall quadrangle.
After the 10 am Mass, Raagas said a commemorative program will be held to mark the 73rd City Charter Day of Cagayan de Oro followed by lunch.
“At 1 am, the 20th City Council will convene a special session to pave the way for Mayor Klarex’s city address and report,” he said.
Raagas said they expect the program to end at 3 pm. He said a LED van will be set up in the Cogon public market area that will broadcast live Mayor Uy’s city address and mayor’s report to mark the 73rd City Charter Day, a special holiday for Cagayan de Oro City.
The event will also be streamed live on the City Information Office’s Facebook page as well as the mayor’s official Facebook page.
In his weekly program ‘Ang Inyong Alagad Mayor Klarex Uy’, Mayor Uy confirmed that aside from citing his administration’s achievements in his first year of office, his first city address and mayor’s report will outline the programs and projects that City Hall will undertake in succeeding months of his term.
