“This artwork beautifully portrays the city’s renowned warmth, rich history, and unwavering resilience,” said Lumbatan.

With great enthusiasm, Lumbatan presented the art piece to highlight the distinctive spirit of CDO.

She explained that the piece represents the warmth felt during the Nativity scene, evoking the joyous celebration of Jesus Christ’s birth.

“The art radiates love, joy, and unity, mirroring the everyday warmth bestowed by the people of Cagayan de Oro,” said Lumbatan, adding that it’s a testament to the city’s well-deserved title as the “City of Golden Friendship.”

Moreover, the art piece pays homage to CDO’s historical significance.

Inspired by a century-old stained glass gifted by the New York Sacred Heart Chapel, Lumbatan underlined the importance of preserving the city’s rich history and cultural heritage.

This incorporation of traditional elements reflects Cagayan de Oro’s commitment to honoring its roots while prospering as a modern city.

Not limited to its representation of warmth and history, the art piece symbolizes the remarkable resilience of Kagay-anons.

Lumbatan pointed out the architectural design, featuring a prominent archway that signifies the strong determination of its people.

This design serves as a visual reminder that no matter the challenges faced, Kagay-anons remain steadfast and resolute, triumphing over adversity.

In her concluding statements, Lumbatan encouraged everyone to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.

She stressed the importance of spreading warmth, cherishing memories, and staying strong in the face of life’s trials.

Lumbatan conveyed warm greetings from the City Mayor’s Office, extending heartfelt Christmas wishes to Mayor Rolando A. UY and the entire Cagayan de Oro community.

As the City Mayor’s Office embraces the festive season, Lumbatan’s announcement serves as a reminder of Cagayan de Oro’s defining qualities.

“The city stands as a symbol of warmth, custodian of history, and embodiment of an indomitable spirit,” Lumbatan said.

According to her, the art piece not only visually represents these characteristics but also serves as a call to embrace the values that define the city’s identity.
