Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) from the Cagayan de Oro Fire District, came quickly to help the boy. They saw that he was very badly hurt.

The team that came to help included FO3 Bryle Gil Cervantes, FO2 Jeffrey Malacaman, FO2 Oliver Paul Hatulan, FO1 Kenneth Charles Achas and FO1 Ralph Rafael Vamenta.

When the helpers got there, they saw the boy was awake but he was in a lot of pain because his injuries were so serious.

They checked him and saw he had metal rods stuck in him in three places.

The first metal rod went through the boy’s groin and thigh, which was making him bleed a lot and could hurt his body inside.

The second rod went into his stomach and chest, which could hurt his insides and make it hard for him to breathe.

The third rod went from his stomach up to his shoulder, which could hurt his blood vessels and nerves.

The EMTs and the Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team, started working carefully to get the boy off the metal rods.

The helpers and the USAR team were very careful to move the boy without making his injuries worse. After they got him free, they quickly took him to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center.

Meanwhile, the driver involved in the incident has been detained by local authorities as investigations into the accident continue.
