ILIGAN City ― Engr. Orlando Maglinao, died last Easter Sunday, March 31 of a lingering illness. He was 78. A former city councilor, he was elected three times as such, beginning elections of 2001.

According to former city mayor Lawrence Ll. Cruz, was an active councilor, heading various committees, and until recently, in 2022, he headed the Asset Preservation team of the National Steel Corporation.

That was when the Supreme Court decided that this city should stop its claim of ownership of the said plant which was shuttered in 1999. So, the city under mayor Frederick Siao did so with the team of late Maglinao mandated to head said team.

Maglinao’s remains were interred yesterday Sunday, at the Pryce Gardens in Barangay Sta. Felomina, this city.
