PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. made a firm commitment to the Philippine National Police (PNP) as he spoke at the Bangsamoro Police Basic Recruit Course (BPBRC) graduation on Monday.

He expressed his unwavering support for the police force, stating, “As long as you remain true and faithful to your duties as members of the police force, you have my full support.

“Together, we strive to provide every Filipino with a peaceful and prosperous life,” Marcos said.

President Marcos addressed the first batch of graduates, known as Batch 2023-01 Class Alpha-Bravo “Bakas-Lipi,” emphasizing the importance of integrity and character.

He highlighted that these values were the reason for their selection into the BPBRC and urged them to maintain these virtues throughout their service.

“Your integrity is the key to your success,” he told the graduates, “Strive to fulfill and remain the foundation of your work and service from now on.”

The President praised the courage and determination of the Bakas-Lipi class.

He acknowledged the challenges they faced and overcame during their training and encouraged them to continue facing future challenges with the same spirit.

“Now that you are about to wear your uniform and serve the country, the challenges to your character will double. As you face new challenges, let your duty to the people inspire you. Embrace and reflect upon the image of your region and our nation as a place of security and order,” he said.

President Marcos also urged the graduates to continue improving themselves.

He stressed that learning and professional development should be ongoing processes to enhance the quality of their service.

“With your new knowledge of policing and the laws of the BARMM and the Philippines, do not let your self-improvement end here. Continue to refine your abilities and skills to elevate the quality of your service,” he added.

In his speech, the President linked the development of Bangsamoro to the prosperity of the entire Philippines.

He suggested that progress within the region is a step towards the “New Philippines” his administration envisions.

During the ceremony, President Marcos served as the guest of honor and keynote speaker. He had the privilege of presenting certificates and awards to outstanding graduates.

The graduation of Batch 2023-01 Class Alpha-Bravo “Bakas-Lipi” is a significant event, marking a historic step in the Bangsamoro peace process. It represents the integration of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) members into the PNP as Patrolmen and Patrolwomen.

The name “Bakas-Lipi” stands for “BAngsamorong Kapulisan Sandigan ng Lipunang Pilipino,” which translates to “Bangsamoro Police, the Pillar of the Filipino Society.”

With the President’s promises, the police force left the ceremony with renewed vigor, ready to fulfill their roles in society and contribute to the peace and order of the nation.
