THERE is a big possibility of physical violence, bloodshed even, if the land dispute in Sitio Upper and Lower Bolonsiri, Barangay Camaman-an, this city — involving some 300 families — would be ignored by City Hall, the homeowners association claimed.

Reason why the members of the Friendship Organization Village Association, Inc, represented by its adviser Pastor Leo Cadabos trooped to City Hall and asked Mayor Oscar Moreno to intervene on their behalf.

Mao na nga mianhi kami sa City hall kay mangayo kamig tabang ni Mayor Moreno, aron  dili  mosamot pag-ulbo  ang kasamok sa among lugar,” said Cadabos.

Cadabos claimed that on March 10, members of Freshville Livelihood Association entered their 5.5-hectare land in Upper and Lower Bolonsiri and started demolishing houses without a court order. He also claimed that the members of the association who encroached their land are employees of the Philippine National Bank.

Duna nay pipila ka mga balay sa among mga kauban nga naguba na,” Cadabos said.

The tension started, Ca-dabos added, when their members fought back against the supposed employees of PNB.

He said they are waiting for Moreno’s reply on their plea until now.

Cadabos said they wan-ted Moreno to tell PNB to cease and desist from demolishing their homes while the land dispute is still going on in the courts.

He said they have been living in the area, owned by Atty. Graciano Neri, for more than 10 years.

Cadabos claimed that while they were remitting rent to Neri they were not notified that the land had already been “titled” by the heirs of Restituto Echeveria and had been used as collateral for a loan with PNB.

When Neri was informed of this, Cadabos added, Neri then filed for “annulment of sales against title” against the Echeveria family. Neri questioned where and when the Echeverias had titled his land.

While the case is still ongoing before the court, Cabados said, PNB foreclosed the loan of the Echeveria family because of non-payment.

Cadabos said he is hoping Moreno could intervene before the Holy Week and to talk with PNB regarding their problem.
