BUTUAN City — Police arrested on Good Friday a burglary suspect who robbed the backpacks and gadgets of two foreign missionaries – a British and an Australian – now stationed in Barangay Poblacion, General Luna, Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte.

Police Senior Insp. Arnel Banatin, Chief of Police of General Luna Municipal Police Station, General Luna, Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte identified the victims as Jehovah’s Witness missionaries Jeremy Clayton, 24, an Australian and Hannah Thomas, 27, a British.

Banatin said the two foreigners went to the General Luna Municipal Police Station early dawn of Good Friday reported the incident and seek help from the police.

Banatin said he immediately convened his men and dispatched a hot pursuit operation team.

In less than a day, operatives from General Luna Municipal Police Station arrested and identified the burglary suspect as David Asio Dulguime, 25, resident of Barangay Poblacion, General Luna, Surigao del Norte.

Banatin said Dulguime was arrested in a hot pursuit operation after the foreigners reported and sought help from General Luna Police Station, that they were victims of burglary where their backpacks and gadgets were stolen by still unidentified robbery suspect(s) who forcibly entered their rented house in Sitio Tuazon, Barangay Poblacion, General Luna town past 1 am of March 25.

Recovered from Dulguime was the victim’s properties. Dulguime was brought to the police station where he is currently detained.
