ZONE 1 of Rotary International District 3870 will have a Joint Governor’s Address at the Pryce Plaza Hotel this city this Sunday, Aug. 21.

RI District Governor Miriam Ruth “Jing” dela Calzada will be honored in the address.

In her speech at the address, Calzada will talk about Rotary International Founder Paul Harris, The Rotary Foundation Founder Arch Klumph, Rotary International President John Germ, and herself as district governor, and also the clubs in the district, focusing on making their collective visions and dreams a reality through teamwork.

The activity will be hosted by the Zone 1 Council of Presidents headed by Chairman Dufel “Dodie” Lagrosas of the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro.

Also joining the event will be Zone 1’s assistant governors Jonathan “Junax” Ortigoza, Jose Antonio “Toni” Estrella, Ma. Concepcion “Conchitina” Lagonera, Netnet Camomot, and Crisantiago “Cris” Parojinog.

Expected are presidents and Rotarians from Zone 1’s 13 Rotary clubs in Cagayan de Oro and Opol, Misamis Oriental: RC CDO led by president Dodie Lagrosas, RC South president Kim Roel Libutaque, RC Carmen Valley president Susan Lonkey, RC West president Erna Maagad, RC East president Celso Balat, RC Bay Area president Arnulfo “Teng” Sazon, RC Metro president Alejo “Xelors” Rola Jr., RC Uptown president Mario “Mar” Sumalinog, RC Kalayaan president Emma Tan, RC Centerpoint president Elmo Lagrosas, RC East Urban president Rachaille Astrid “Ching” Ferrer, RC Premier president Dino Camonias, and RC Opol president Fernando “Nanding” Gurrea.

Other incumbent and past district officers, including past district governors and past assistant governors, are also expected to join.

Since Aug. 14, dela Calzada has visited the various clubs to check on their projects, lauding each of them for their efforts in upholding this year’s Rotary theme of “Rotary Serving Humanity.”
