BUTUAN City — A couple reportedly a staff to Agusan del Norte and Cabadbaran City officials were arrested in shabu raid in Cabadbaran City last Saturday noon after more than half a million pesos worth of shabu, .45 cal pistol and ammunitions were confiscated from their possession inside their residence.

The raid and arrests were based on the Search Warrant No. 1827-2016 dated Dec. 12 issued by RTC Judge Emmanuel Escatron, RTC Branch 2, Libertad, this city.

Drug Enforcement Agency-Caraga regional director Gilbert Buenafe who led the raid with his men identified the couple as Jingky Digdigan alias Jingky/Jin and Victor Salalima alias Victor/Vic both residents of Cabiltes St., Barangay 6, Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte.

Based on the PDEA official report, Buenafe said the couple was on their target list personalities on drugs. The couple, he added was also arrested and imprisoned on illegal drugs charges in 2004 but they were able to post bail.

Buenafe said PDEA is now investigating reports that the couple is allegedly connected with big-time illegal drugs syndicates from Lanao, Marawi operating in cities of Cabadbaran, Butuan and Surigao.

PDEA seized during the raid at the couple’s residence were four sachets of suspected shabu weighing more or less 50 grams worth P 590,000, several drug paraphernalia, caliber .45 Smith and Wesson with serial number 817753 and several live ammunition.

Buenafe said arrested persons were brought to PDEAegional office in Barangay Libertad, here and are now under PDEA detention after no bail bond was recommended in the arrests of the two.

Cases for violation of Sections 11 and 12 Article II of RA9165 and Illegal Possession of Firearms and Ammunitions are now being prepared and were filed in court yesterday.

Buenafe said he has been receiving calls after the arrest of the couple. He said the callers did identify themselves.
