We also played our bands original composition about life, and moving forward to a group of young people from Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon in Mangima Spring Resort, Manolo Fortich Bukidnon.

The Municipality of Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon under Mayor Clive D. Quino have initiated the 1st Municipal Youth Leadership Training Seminar Workshop, a three-day stay-in seminar for Out of School Youths.

It was joined by newly elected Sanguniang Kabataan (SK) officials, Indigenous People youths and various youth organizations in discussing basic life support and first aid rescue training, values formation, children’s rights, gender and development, anti illegal drugs symposium and environmental conservation and protection.

This is the LGU’s way to empower the youth sector of Manolo Fortich preparing them for the challenge in globalization and giving them a voice in expressing their sentiments as part in nation building.

Mayor Clive Quino, a young leader himself, provided funds allocated for the youth sector only to be used in making projects that will benefit the young people. A consultation in every Barangay was conducted to get ideas on what the youth wants and need.

On the 2nd day of our stay in the youth camp, we shared to the participants life skills in the arts; we taught participants basic drawing, painting, and beads making. I always believe that we Filipinos are talented people, my indicator for that is the presence of Filipinos on international talent contests.

Art is innate in our system it just needs to be honed and be appreciated, it is an expression or a communication being interpreted using a medium or form skillfully.

Through activities such as this we empower each person to let them know their self worth and be confident in the gift that God have given to each individual, if this will be maximized then I think we will be at peace with ourselves and be contented and at the same time be an influence to people all over the world.

The second phase of the training seminar started yesterday May 22- 24 to cater to the next batch of youth leaders of Manolo Fortich. Kudos to government programs that the grassroots can benefit.
