Police Regional Office-10 will soon be distributing the so-called “Clean Rider Stickers” to all motorcycle riders and enthusiasts which aims to curb crimes perpetrated by motorcycleiding suspects.

This was disclosed by PRO-10 spokesperson Supt. Surki Sereñas said “Clean Rider” campaign is part of the program of PNP Director General Oscar Albayalde, that will bring to end the rampancy of crimes perpetrated by motorcycleiding suspects.

Sereñas said they already started registering those interested motorcycle riders and enthusiast before the regional, provincial, municipal and city police stations and they are also awaiting the release of stickers to be posted in all motorcycles.

Under the program, the campaign mainly underscores the total elimination of crimes committed by these motorcycleiding suspects, eradicate road unworthy motorcycles, impound stolen motorcycles, and ensure the safety and security of law-abiding motorcycle riders.

Libre ang Clean Rider Sticker and kung dunay maningil dili kana puwede. Anti-criminality campaign kini siya. Crimes involving motorcycleiding criminals have been rampant in the country during the past years,” he added.

Through the Clean Rider campaign, motorcycleiders are encouraged to submit and present pertinent documents such as the official receipt and certificate of registration of the motorcycle, license and valid identification card to the nearest police stations in their community.

The documents will then be thoroughly checked if the motorcycle was involved in a previous traffic violation or crime, or alerted at the Vehicle Information System of the PNP’s Highway Patrol Group.

If the documents are cleared, the chief of the police station will allow the motorist to be given a clean rider sticker which will be posted in front of the motorcycle where it would be easily seen during inspections. Meanwhile, the serial number of the sticker will be posted at the back of the license of the motorist.

Sereñas said they invited among other major motorcycle organization in Northern Mindanao like Karancho and the new group called Angkas.

“This will sticker will reduce the time of inspection along checkpoints. Once a motorist has a clean rider sticker, the checkpoints will be easier for him and he may even be exempted from inspections at times,” he added.

However, the sticker does not guarantee that a motorist will no longer be checked during necessary mobile and installed checkpoints. He will still be inspected if the need arises.

He also disclosed that clean riders can be considered as force multipliers in their respective city and municipality police offices and stations.
