Engineers from Cagayan de Oro City and the province of Misamis Oriental expressed their support on Technical Safety Inspection (TSI) during an orientation spearheaded by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-10) to 48 professionals.
In partnership with the League of Municipalities of the Philippines, the safety training was intended for the engineers from the different localities of Misamis Oriental.
DOLE-10 Regional Director lawyer Joffrey Suyao, in his message, said, “We at the Department always believe that we can do so much if we work together.”
He pointed out that the economy benefits if workers are both safe and happy in workplaces leading to productive workers and positively contribute to improved businesses.
He also said that the Misamis Oriental province as the rising industrial zone of Northern Mindanao is where the concentration of orientation on health and safety is prioritized like all other areas in the region considering the number of workers and vibrancy of businesses.
Tagoloan Municipal Civil Engineer Paul A. Omongos gave his insights about the orientation, “TSI reminds us about the importance of safety and how to make it as a way of life. It also helps the LGUs in implementing the safety procedures to its constituents.” (dole x)
